OK. Just received my new radar detector Valentine 1 - what is the most used aftermarket mount (under rear view type).

If it is hardwired, portability to multiple cars still possible ?

Wiring diagram installing guidance is needed as well.

Sinfulc5, - Ecklers have a mirror type mount in there catalog, check it out. As one of the other guy's have said " Teambiker " makes a very clean little tail where you can access power for your V at the mirror, very much a cleaner and faster install than the floor access. Takes 30 seconds to make the connection, comes with small spades on the end of the wires and you just shove them into the mirror connector, it will take you longer to mount the detector than it will to make the connection. If you go back a month or two in the archives you will find some threads with pic's showing his install or just e-mail him and he can e-mail you back pic's. This is really the only way to go for a detector.

im not finding where to order the mounting bracket from that site. Is it a special order item or do they have it listed somewhere?

Default Mount

This is just my opinion, but I personally do not like the mounts that install the "V" under the mirror. It makes it harder to see out the window (I am just picky that way). I use the supplied suction cup bracket that came with the detector and have installed it above the mirror. This makes for a lot cleaner install. It also has a couple benefits: The higher installed the better any radar detector works, and this method of install also helps to keep it out of sight for potential onlookers (Thieves). Like I said above this is just my $.02, regardless on how you install congratulations on a great detector I would not have anything else.

You could however be degrading the performance of your detector if it is "looking'" through the tint strip at the top of your windshield.
