Default SS Brakes Lines - Worth it?

Thinking about modifying my brakes with vented slotted rotors and ss lines. The car will mostly see street actions... maybe a driving course now & then. A stock engine with some intake & exhaust mods. My question: Will I notice the different? and Do you think the ss lines are worth the $$?

I recently read (can't find the post) that it's recommended to keep the original setup if running stock application.

Greetings, Greg,

There seems to be an issue with SS lines allowing static electricity buildup, which causes erroneous wheel sensor readings/feedback to the PCM, and resultant codes.

Functionally, though, they will firm up pad application and pedal feel......a little bit.

Not worth the effort unless you going to do some serious roadcourse driving.

Had a coupon with Summit so they cost me $80 (shipping included). Had to bleed my brakes anyway so I thought it was a good time to upgrade cheaply.

As a matter of fact, no. But thank you you ever so much for asking.

Who's making you stay? I agree that people who make "hit & run posts" with nothing more than "Dupe" or "I agree" add no value and serves only to increase post count (not to mention that it is against forum rules). However... if you had bothered to look, you would have seen that the dupe image I posted was also a link to the earlier post from the same person, where the same question was asked.

The OP probably thought he was doing the right thing to ensure his question got seen by the maximum number of people who might be able to help. What do you think the Dupe smilie is for anyway? Answer: It serves as a light-hearted way of reminding members that multi-posting is not acceptable.

$80.00!

that is cheap, like $20.00 a line!
I would do it for that price and if I didnt like them or if they threw codes, swap em out.

Default Thanks for your inputs

Thanks for all your input. Sounds like 65% responses are favorable (from both of my posted threads) with possible side effects. That’s why I like the CF. It is a great resource, so you can make the most informed decision about your Vette.

To Wolfmanjohn - PM sent.
To BW1 - Sorry for not knowing the CF rule about “dupe” posting. Your right; trying to get as much opinions & info. I am better informed.
To Jim2527 - No comment.

Unless you are running HPDE's then don't bother with them. I have them and they're great, but you won't appreciate the benefits unless running very hard.

I never realized that you could actually click on the "dupe" icon. I thought it was just like all the other things you can add to your post. I also thought that people were just being asses when they did that knowing the search didn't work so well. I am now enlightened.
