The platinums are supposed to be good for 60,000 to 100,000 miles on all late model cars. Having said that I did change the plugs in my 97 Malibu at 60,000 because the gap had already burnt up to .060". Granted the "Bu" has a Mexican toilet for a motor but the stock Delcos are a platinum plug as well. I know from reading other posts that some people on this board will change the plugs every 15k which is really a throwback to the old shorter lifespan copper plugs. I personally would probably change them at 60k, but that is just me.

Delco 41-985 Iridiums. They even come pre-gapped at the recommended .040 (but check them when you buy). GM puts them in the C6 and recommends them for all C5s. The box they come in claims they're a 100,000 mile plug. Don't know about that, but they should last a good long while.

Default Plugs

I changed plugs at 50,000 and found the platnium tips burned off of 3 of the plugs. The car still ran ok, but gap was way off on the burned plugs. My 99 came with "new" NGKTR55IX Corvette plug
41952 ngk 2885. I purchased the car at 2 miles on it and I took out the factory plugs. I would not run pass 50,000. My driving is "normal?" for a vet. 99 Nassau Blue.

I'm using NGK TR-55 copper plugs.

I change them every 2 years, which would be about 6000 miles.

at $1.20ea, I'll change them every year if I feel it needs it.

I think the rule of thumb seems to be, copper plugs for performance and platinum plugs for longer plug life.
the iridiums seem to be the "best of both worlds".

I changed mine at 20,000 miles, the pucks were gone on ALL of them, the gap had opened to 70 thousands.

I put in NGK TR-55's. They work well, inexpensive, and it's an easy job to replace them every year or so.

Don't know, whatever the factory used in 2000.
