which lasts longer
which transmission lasts longer, the A4 or M6?
Neither being abused, and both maintained regularly.

With the guide lines you mentioned the M6 will last a very long time and would get my vote. But a properly maintained A4 that is not abused with an inexpensive tranny cooler will also last a long time. Something to remember about an M6 is the clutch will need to be replaced at some point and that is not a cheap repair on a C5.
