Had a Z06 Ti exhaust catback installed on my '99 coupe Friday. System mounted up to my existing Magnaflow x-pipe. The tips on the drivers side are a little over a 1/4" lower than the right side. The tech said, that's the best they can get without drilling holes." Does anyone have any ideas on how to get these things lined up evenly? I also had different Z06 system mounted on the same car a while back and the tips aligned perfectly. I tried the Search but didn't find anything worthwhile. Thanks.
Get the car up on a lift and Try loosening the 2 bolts where the over axle pipes attach to the "H" Pipe. Have a friend grab the tips that are out of alignment and move the tips/muffler/pipe assembly around until both sides line up, then tighten the bolts. If it's still out of alignment, you may have to loosen both sides and re-align before tightening the bolts.

Had the same thing. Loosened everything up leveled both sets of tips and tightened. The tips from the factory are not perfect but you can get real close.
This happened to me during the install - The rubber mount has a slot for the bracket, but in addition, it has a place where the bracked can be inserted (sort of a recess) and if inserted there (with soem force), the alignment will be off slightly - Look to make sure the muffler bracket is actually through the proper slot in the rubber -
Still enjoying your old ones. Did you keep the ones you bought a month or so ago?
The hangar part that is built into the muffler can be bent up or down with a bit of force. Try bending the low one up an 1/8th and the high one down 1/8th.
Also, there is a notch in the bracket on the frame that the groove should fit into. Make sure both are in the groove.
Sorry to hear of your troubles, but you can make them work with a bit of finesse'.
I have the Ti exhaust also. AND I have the Billet plate that attatches on the exhaust pipes right behind the tips. So any discrepency from left to right shows much more because the plate is not level!!!
When I put the Z06 catback on my car, they weren't perfectly level. I tried adjusting everything I could find to adjust. No improvement. Then I went to the Chevy dealer and looked at 3 brand new Z06's and they all looked the same as mine. Conclusion: they weren't perfect to begin with.

that's a good possibility - as I have heard of this before. Some think there are two slots in the rear bumper rubber block - but in reality only one was intended to hold the muffler bracket.
If all else fails... with everything installed and bolted firm, place foot across both the higher tips and apply pressure downward
Seriously - that's exactly what got my TI's finally aligned.

yes, seriously, they can be "tweeked" if yours arent perfect, but most are as good as any aftermarket pipes........ bend either cold, or with a little heat added, BUT if you use heat, be super careful, blow a hole in it, and it's a bit*h finding a dude setup to weld Ti. use wood shims and/or a jack and a board to securely hold the muffler in place while on the car....... then a long pipe(s) inside the small dia outlet pipes, and/or a large pipe over the polished outlets (with tape to prevent scratches).
Mine are off too. Standing behind the car, the driver's side is lower than the right by about 1/2 inch. The closer you get to the car, the more obvious.
