What plug..Platinum ot Irridium?

Default What plug..Platinum ot Irridium?

Need to replace plugs and wires....not sure which plug to use. Car is a 98....with 84k. I assume it came with Platinum plugs ..supposed to be good for a 100k?????

GM now recommends the AC-Delco 41-985, iridium, gapped @ .040
Mine, also originally came with the platinums.

Do not re-gap. Per AC Delco site.

Before some members here jump all over you, I'd suggest using the "Search" took located at the top of this page and delete your two posts. This is much better than posting these questions for the millionth time (I saw your oil question too).

To quickly answer your questions, put in AC Delco Iridiums, the AC Delco Platinums are junk and were replaced with the Iridiums. Use Mobil 1 synthetic, that's what it came with and is plenty protection when changed using the cars oil life monitor.

platinum, is a very poor conductor that's why they last a long time. i prefer standard iron electrode plugs for the absolute best performance unless you can afford gold. LOL.
