Default Parking Brake hold button

Can't find any answers useing search. the parking brake button that causes the lever to click when set is somehow broken. I can no longer set it to the up or on position, it falls back down to the floor. Does anyone know if the whole lever needs to be replaced or can the set button that makes the clicks when set be fixed. I can not find any parts other than the whole lever itself. By the way the reason it broke was my brothers 300 lbs. wife got in the passenger side and was actually sitting on part of the lever. Dont crack on me I was just being a nice guy by giving her a ride. It worked before she got in. I know one thing no more fat chicks in my Vette.

Default Parking brake button

Remove the handle and try to pry the assembly loose. It is probably just bent a little. There is a small screw under the boot to remove the handle.

I had a similar problem when I installed the MGW handle. There were two allen screws that hold the piece on. If they were tightened too much and compressed the assembly the brake would not work.

It is kind of hard to explain, wish I had pictures for you.
