Default Removing side mirror

Need advice on removing side mirror (car going to paint shop next week). I know inside door panel must be removed to get to the mirror, but how do I do this, without wrecking anything?

thanks

there are 2 bolts holding it down which are located behind the door pull. look where your hand grabs the door pull and you will see an oval plug on the door panel, pop it off. the screws are right there. once removed just pry up gently around the entire panel and un pop the snaps holding the panel on. once they are all poped you can lift up the panel and off the top by the window track, you will also have to unplug the door switch wire harness. if i remember right the mirror is held on with 3 or 4 bolts, can't remember what size but a rachet with a 4 in extension is perfect.

just install in the reverse order.

That would be 3 10mm nuts and 2 plugs.

goto http://www.vetteessentials.com/instr...or_handle.html they have a great write up and pics. I replace my pass mirror last year. It wasn't too hard. Just take it slow popping the plastic pins, using the two screw driver method worked fine. It helps if you have a friend with small hands to remove and reinstall the three nuts.
