Charging dead battery

I have the optima yellow top battery in my car. The car has set for a couple of months while i have been doing a few mods this winter, now the battery is dead. This is my first vette, so this may be a stupid question, but, is there anything special or precautions i need to do before i put the charger on it? I new i should have been checking it. Thanks guys

Just hook up the charger and plug it in. Nothing special needed. Mine has gone dead several times before getting a Battery Tender.

Fortunately, the Yellow Top is a deep-cycle battery, but I wouldn't expect any good Optima to go dead in a couple months. Do you have more than the usual draw?

I just trashed my red top a few days ago. I wore the battery completely dead by accident. The red top would not let me connect it to a charger. I was getting major sparks when I was trying to do so.

Not sure if this only with the red tops, but be carefull.

I dont think their was any high rate of draw on it. I was working on it today and had the hatch open for about 30 minutes, after that i went to hit the button to open the hatch again and it wouldnt do anything. Iam not able to start the car because i have the radiator loose and no water in it.
