Default How to clean up pistons?

I have removed the heads to upgrade to stage 3 and see some carbon on top of those pistons.
I have tried to clean them but I could only clean a bit.
Any trick?
Thanks,
-Mike

Default Clean the pistons

At all parts houses they sell a scraper with about 2-2.5" scraping surface. They cost about $5-10.pick one up and scrape the top of the piston.Turn the crank shaft until that particular piston comes all the way up .Makes it easier to clean the top of the piston and clean up isn't a hassle either.

A buddy and I used one-sided razor blades with the piston at TDC. Just takes a few minutes per piston and they come out very clean.

Scotch Brite is the best for this . It will not harm the aluminum.
You could use it with WD-40 or brake cleaner.

I installed the ECS Alky Injection Kit...it keeps my pistons "squeeky" clean.

Mike, I'm just curious. What thermostat were you running? Thanks.
