Default Fast blinking turn signal

I test drove an 01 MN6 today whose left turn signal blinked twice as fast as the other. Whats that all about?? Anyone ever heard of that and how do you fix it?

I had to replace the actual socket the bulb goes into one time because it was blinking fast, but the bulb was ok.
