Default HELP - PS fluid overheating or ??

Need some advice from you road racers. I experienced loss of power steering assist for breif periods at the track this weekend, mostly at the end of the straightaway and later in the session as things heated up. Works fine after things cool down. Just put some bigger stickies on the car and the track was a tight one. Is this due to the power steering fluid overheating or do you think it's hardware problems? If it's the fluid, who makes a cooler for power steering?
Thanks for the help.

My 98 came with one. When I first saw it , I thought it was a transmission cooler, till I traced the lines.

The C5 Z51 option came with a heavy duty power steering cooler. Having cooked a few power steering pumps and the rack, I changed the stock cooler for this cooler (around $100 from Forum GM parts vendors) and have not had any further problems. By the way, make sure you do not overfill the reservoir. Also, I use Valvoline synthetic fluid.
