I followed the procedure in the link-worked great.
now did it help-I lean towards no. I did heads, cam, pulley
and gutted the pup-cats, stock manifolds with z06 cat back. the hp after tuning was good for my part combination but the torque numbers were fare.
sound level was slightly changed. there were no bad smells or code problems.
hope this helps
Probably very little difference, I don't think it's worth doing unless you've already unbolted the exhaust for some other reason. I mean, if you're doing something else that requires the exhaust pipes to be taken off, why not do it? When I installed my tunnel brace, I gutted the pup cats, but I wouldn't have bothered if I didn't have the tunnel brace to install.

maybe more of a performance difference gained on a moderately modded engine.
But, I did notice a deepening of the exhaust sound
I look at it this way.
1. It's a free mod.
2. It may deepen the exhaust tone - especially with Z06 titaniums.
3. It gives this man an ulcer (a little payback for all the hassles he's caused for us automobile enthusiasts):
Hmm... Thanks Guys! I Have It Off Right Now Doing Some Other Things And Thought It Would Be Easy To Do But After Reading How Long It Takes And Theres No Real Gain .....i Dont Know? Maybe Not...
i did mine and it changed the sound (slightly deeper than before)
feels like it helps on the top side of the powerband some but could just be my imagination
