Default Replacing the Selective Ride Control shocks???

99 Coupe with SRC. Has anyone successfully been able to change out those shocks and replace them with other shocks like Z06 shocks without throwing codes?

You need resistors, or to go to somebody with a tech 2 to turn the computer off, otherwise you have big issues.

Default Resistor?

You have my attention now.. Is the feedback to the computer from an internal resistor in the positioner.? Or is this a voltage divider system as in the memory seats?

Has anyone used a resistor to "trick" the 99 computer and used normal shocks?

Thanks 99 Nassau Blue

Try Casperelectronics.com. They have a shock simulator for the active handling system. Not sure if it is for a c4 or c5.

The resistance needs to change (as the shocks move in real life, resistance changes) or it will still throw a code in about 20 minutes. Without the resistors the car gets really pissed off and won't let you go over 80mph (i had to drive from st louis, MO to Raleigh, NC with this problem) After insalling the resistors it still eventually tells you service vehicle soon and some error about active handling but never stops you from going over 80. Previous owner put coil-overs on my car, I'm considering going back to the stock equipment, anybody have any suggestions on what I should get??

I think that LAPD sells the resistors in question.

This is what you need: RTD simulators
