I have a 98 with dual climate control. The other day I noticed that I was not able to regulate the air temperature that was coming out of the driver side ducts, (dash, floor or defrost) but the passenger side, respectively, was working just fine. What is wrong with my car?

Same thing that goes wrong with many of them! Try the cheapest thing, re-homing the actuators, by pulling the number 18 and number 27 fuse from the passenger side floor fuse panel while the heat/air conditioning is running. Leave them out for a second or two, and replace. Some folks have had luck with just pulling the battery cable loose for a couple of minutes to accomplish the same thing. Neither worked for me, so I had to have the left air mix actuator (part number 89018365) replaced at the cost of $178.66, plus 2.2 hours labor (72 per hour). You can get the part cheaper at gmdirect.com, and probably do the change yourself. I just didn't have the confidence/knowledge to do it this time.

I set the temperature to 90 degrees pulled the fuses and after reinstalling them the temp shot right and match the air temperature that was coming from the passenger duct. However once I turned the temp down to say 70 degrees it stayed down and would not respond when the temp control was turned back up to 90. Looks like its time to replace the air mix actuator. Thanks again for the input.

You're welcome. Hopefully you'll get it figured out the least expensive way possible!

Once again this forum pulls through. I had HVAC Codes B0361 and B0441 and B0363 and B0367, on a 2003 Vette Thought crap I have to replace both actuators, removing dash, etc. etc. I tired to just reset the DIC and actually heard the actuators going through the paces. Then the code came right back. Read this OLD post, and pulled Fuse 18 and 27 with A/C on left out for a minute or so and pushed back in. Caused a few other codes to throw because of it and the TPM sensors freaked, but reset all the codes again. Drove the car around the block TPM sensors worked on the tires, ran the A/C in auto from hot to cold driver and passenger both sides, cool and or feet hot. Did both independently passenger then driver and visa versa, etc. Parked the car looked at the DIC codes nothing. HVAC codes cleared. NICE!!! No 4 hour dash removal No $165/per side actuator cost.

Thanks for the Tip
