How complicated is this swap?? Assuming of course that the LS2/7 crate motors come with computers and wiring harness, shouldnt this be a pretty straight forward swap?? I know there are a few differences such as the position of a few sensors and the dry sump oiling system on the LS7....but for a little over 5G's....and LS2 into a higher milage C5 seems like a bargain...any thoughts??

Perry Kincy is tuning his Scoggin Dickey prepped 402 - Here's a link->http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=284574 .
Pretty straight forward install using the stock PCM ( I believe his is an Fbod) and relocating the Knock sensors to the exterior surface of the block.
Most are guessing an LS7 crate motor, without drysump system and PCM, at over $15,000.
Hopefully bare blocks and heads will be reasonable.
Talked to a friend of mine last night. He has put a deposit on a LS7. He is #4. He said he should get it about September. The people he is getting it from say cost will be $8-10,000. He wants to put it in his '01.
yea, I was really thinking more in terms of an LS7 into a C5....but the LS2 wouldnt be a bad upgrade for those with higher milage cars looking to freshen things up a little. Its alos a good starting point for something like a 402 as stated above. Does anybody know how limited LS7 production is going to be?? Ive heard that the price should be between 8 and 10 thousand....but given the fact that they are hand made, I cant imagine there will be a whole lot of them available. Im wondering if it will be a limited production run, kind of like the ZL1 that was released a year or so ago.
DTE is almost done swapping a new LS2 w/DTE's cam package, FAST Intake, reprogrammed PCM into my 1998 C5. I already have Dynatech long-tube headers, x-pipe and high-flow cats. I now have a new engine that I will put all the miles on and one that can readily accept the future Vortec blower and remain emissions legal. I bought the C5 used for a bargain and it will be a contender long into the future as a daily driver. I will post the result as soon as I put some miles on it and test Phil's handiwork. Long live the C5!!!!!!!!!!
