Hi guys, I am a new guy and a first time vette owner. I got a 2000 bowling green targa top vette with an a4 and 2.73 gear with 17,000 miles. I have always dream of having a C5. Anyway I have had her for a week and so far I have done a few free mods. I have a welder and been drag racing old cars for 10 years so I cut off the stock muffs and built my own straight through tail pipes with some nice dual tips and I also removed the air box lid and snap tied the air cleaner in place. I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of power I might have picked up, the car seems like it runs a little stronger for shure and also sounds kick ***
I really want to get into the solid high 12s and I will be putting some goodyear eagle D3s on it for better traction. I figured I would do the box and make my own tail pipes to save money for headers. Was this a good start?

Yes you are off to a good start. You probabily picked up 10-15 RWHP with your intake and exhaust mods. If I had an A4 with 2.73s one of the first things to go would be the stock T/C and the 2.73 gears. IMO a high stall T/C and 3.42 or 3.73 gears are a must if you really want your car to perform. After I upgraded the T/C and gears I would then look into getting LT headers and a dyno tune. With the mods I just mentioned you should be in the mid to low 12s easily with good traction.

I haven't done the LT's or the T/C yet, but the change to 3.42's is an incredible difference!
