Default WHERE SHOULD I Start WITH MODS?

I have a bone stock 1998 C5 I'd like to start some adding after market modification for better preformance. Intake, Exhuast etc. Please give me your recommendations what and where to start.
Brands and models would be appreciated.

Is it a M6?

1. Gears - 4.10s if M6
2. Intake - VaraRam
3. Exhaust - LG lts, random tech x, Magnaflow and dyno tune
4. Heads/Cam - I haven't decided yet
5. Blower - Andy's P1SC kit for the most power
Maggie for best looks

I would do a Blackwing and then a cat-back. After that you have to decide if you want to stay NA or go FI. If you go with TT's you'll have no use for long-tube headers, for example.

Good Luck,

Mark

Default Show or Go?

I think you have to decide if your priority is either "Show" or "Go". One decided, then you're off to the races (to the bank, that is!) For show... 1st - Wheels. For Go... intake and exhaust; More bang for the bucks. (In my humble opinion.)

If you looking for ideas for intake and exhaust your mainly going to get what he or she has on theirs. That being said, I'd say Ghl exhaust and a Halltech Stinger Intake. There are many different good brands of both, so it just comes down to what you might be able to hear or your opinion of what you read on different posts. If it's show you might get the exhaust plate, SS inserts, screens, etc. Do enough reading on here and you'll get some ideas. Good luck and have fun modding.

Biggest key is knowing where you want to end up. If your talking power, and your doing it in steps, you can buy a lot of parts that dont really work well together and end up doing things more then once. So really, how much are you willing to spend, and how far do you want it to go?

And I would also add that there are a few basic things that you should make sure are up to date first - Column lock bypass, CAGS eliminator and battery come to mind..

No so sure why I can't have both, This car looks like it has come off the show room floor, only 10K miles, I'm the original owner but I think it's time to start driving her more.
Deff looking for her to Go,
But want her to show as well.

I want to insure I don't buy things as mentioned that won't work on the overall package. I don't want to put the cart before the horse.

If doing exhaust - to say Indy Corsa's, do you need to replace hears to help them breah better?

AS long as I have a overall view of where I'm going with her, why can't we can do this a little at a time?
WHO AHH on the Twin Turbos

some people jump all in when it comes to Mods while others just hang out at the shore line and put a foot in here and there.

The 1st year of owning my car I changed the air box, suspension, exhaust and moved to 4.10 gears. I guess I am one that jumps in (well seing other Mods maybeonly to the knee caps).

Anyway with mine I figured I did not want to go the supercharge route so 4.10 gears I knew would work with new headers and then maybe a cam or something down the road. I do have to watch my HP now because too much and the 4.10s become crap. So you are right to try and figure out what you want and make sure it fits in the big plan, but definately you can do one at a time...
