I completed the FK mod this weekend too. I also removed the rear wheel tubs and installed FK on the exterior side of the trunk panels...as outlined by Mike and E-T in their Tech Tip. I used some blow-in insulation in the wheel tub area near the gas filler neck and door sill areas. Used 5 rolls of FK(@ $6.50 each) and a smidgeon of one bale of blow-in insulation (@3.00) for the entire job.
I noted a significant reduction in the interior noise level. I can really enjoy the sound of my exhaust notes (the C5's that is!), and I noticed that there is some wind noise near the windows...something I had not heard before. Wife and I can carry on a conversation and don't have to turn up the radio volume so loud that we can enjoy the oldies!
OK...it's not like the quiet interior of my Lincoln LS...but I don't want it to be either
