Is this bad?

What was the CR?

I spoke to Bob (Violator) tonight. Based on what he saw, it looks like piston #7 kissed the head, probably the first time the car was fired up after the H/C install. #5 probably did something similar.
The H/C install was done two years ago and was running very rough afterwards. On the dyno, it made 365 hp at the wheels - significantly less than what we were expecting. I took the car to Vette Doctors for tuning and Carmen did what he could, but the car only made 385rwhp when he was done. At CI IV, I had Godspeed from LG take a look at the tune and he made a few adjustments, and while it ran a bit better, it still wasn't running "right".
The car was idling at 2000rpm, and huge clouds of black and/or blue smoke would come out of the exhaust when I hammered it. I was going through a quart of oil every 500-1000 miles.
At CI V, I took the car to Violator and he took a quick look. After a quick look, and a quick clean of the MAF sensor, Bob was still stumped. In October last year, the project I'm working on brought me to Knoxville and Bob's been looking at the car and running tests since. He finally decided to pop the heads off to take a look at what was going on. When the heads were removed, Bob found a hole in piston #7.
So, this past weekend, Bob tore into the motor to replace the pistons, and found the damage above to pistons #5 and #7. All the pistons have been replaced and the car should be back on the road in a couple of days. And it should be running on all 8 cylinders again.
