Default CAM numbers-- explanation!?

Can someone explain what the Cam Numbers mean? For example, 226/226 114. Is this considered aggressive or mild. Do bigger numbers mean bigger performance on Low end or high end?

Any breakdown (in not too technical terms) would be appreciated !!

Thanks!

The first number is the degrees that the intake port is open, the second is for the exhaust port. The 3rd number is lobe separation. You're missing an important number which is lift. This # would be something like .571, .590, etc.

Here's a good info page about everything cam related. Probably a lot more than you wanted to read or know...but it's all good info.
