Just retrain them - it is VERY easy and then you will know if it is the sensor or not.

Here is the link how - just in case;

We have a '98 also. We installed new tires, and then a month later, new wheels with tire swap. We had no trouble, but I know that the time is near because the batteries are probably just about shot. Yours may be about to die as well.

Well I did the reprogram thing and everything worked right, but the sensor still doesn't work, I just get a blank on the right front, you say batterys?? what kind of batterys?? I supose they are GM at $25 each or can you get them at raido shack?? I watched the KID do my tire work and he was Yankn and Cranken on them I could not watch anymore and went and sat down!! I have read that you put one bead of the tire on and then the sensor then finish the top bead then air the tire True?? this KID put the sensor on first then the tire shoving one bead past the sensor good? or not good?? thanks for the help >>>Greg

I wish they were $25. You have to replace the sensor and at GM they quoted me $139....each. But there are places that sell them cheaper. Do a search on the forum on wheel sensors, or TPS and see what you find. There is a vendor (name escapes me) that has had some luck replacing the battery, but they are "potted" in, and the sensor is very difficult to dig out without damaging the sensor. Good luck.

Did you drive it after you reprogrammed? They need 15 or 20 minutes of driving before they start reporting in.
