Are there any Long Tube headers that are Calif Legal?
Bassani claims theirs are until you call them on it and then the word is they are up state being tested.
Their LT headers don't require moving the Cats and they're plumbed for all the sensors so maybe they will get a Carb number, but they started advertising 50 state legal before they got it. I wish them luck as I feel most of our high performance cars pollute less with or without headers.

Tx, I don't know of any. I'm moving back to Cali next week, so I'd also love for there to be a CARB approved set of long tube headers. If you go long tubes, I recommend you keep the cats and stock (or Z06) exhaust, and get the thing tuned, and tuned well. It'd also be nice if there were some fugly aftermarket clip on header covers, kind of like imports to do their exhaust manifolds.....it'd help conceal the long tubes, and hopefully allow it to pass the visual.
If they produced more pollution, I would not do it, but I believe my emissions will be the same or lower than stock.
I agree, I think it's the visual smog inspection the car would fail. It's so stupid how our state does the smog stuff. Just another way to make us pay more.
No "legal" LT's in Cali that I know of. However, alot of us are running LT's and passing smog in Cali without failing the visual.
It depends on your smog tech and how well he knows or cares...
The last time I talked to Bassani, they said they were working on the CARB number for the long tubes on the 97-99 only. The 00 and up would require losing the precats. That was over a year ago, haha.
