I have no experience with the LG headers, but I have installed both the Dynatech supermaxx and the Kooks back to back on my car. With only a blackwing air filter, MTI x1 cam, aftermarket 3 inch exhaust, there was no difference in horsepower or torque when going from the Dynatech Supermaxx to the Kooks 1 7/8 inch header. However, I did both installs myself and found the Supermaxx system to be much easier to install and was a much more complete kit in terms of gaskets, o2 extensions and hardware. Just my opinion, but if I were going to do it again (and I am as soon as I get another Z) I would absolutely used the Supermaxx set up.

I guess you want me to answer something. I'm not sure. The original post was a reply on a comparison of the headers. Price was the one thing compared. The LGM are $500+ more. That is all that is needed to compare price. I gave my opinion in the original post why I thought that was the case. The gentlemen above I guess took issue or did not agree with my opinion. I thought I would explain why I thought that was the case. But, as I pointed out. The price comparision is all that is needed. It really does not matter why.

Take Care,

If you are really into modding your vette, don't settle for second best. Kooks, QTP tri Y's, or LG Pros will fit the best, look the best and make the most hp. IMO, hold off until you have the resources and buy the LG Pros. You won't be dissapointed.
Good advice. May I asked what you base your decision on?

I installed my KOOKS single handedly on ramps and jackstand and actually found my Vararam to be a more tedious install than my KOOKS.
I got my KOOKS system X pipe and cats, for $1330.00 shipped to my door back in August '04.

If it is the just the install and only the install deterring you from the KOOKS headers, don't let it. It ain't bad.
May I asked where you got the Kooks for $1330?

Thanks,

I'm in Haymarket, VA and yes they are legal as long as they pass emmissions which they will - at least with a tune. Your car may have to be x-years old or have damaged convertors to justify replacement with the hi-flows.

I have a 98 vert - no worries - and I'm getting the Dynatechs through the GP with Corvett Garage.

As far as coating, they are stainless steel. They should not need coating. I guess if it looks better. I am not planning on coating mine.

I maybe missing something here?
