What is the diffrence besides the bore size, can I put the LS2 in my C5 with out any mods?
The ls2 has extrernal sensors, the ls6 has internal. There is some modifications that have to be done to fit a ls2 in a c5. One that I can think of is the throttlebody for the ls2 is a 90mm and is not a plug and play. You have to splice wires to get it to work right. There are other sensors that need to be relocated as well.
You'd be better off with an LS6. Form looking at all the dyno numbers finally being posted by new C6 owners it appears on a good strong LS2 you may see 352-355 RWHP. That's about average for an LS6 and it will drop right in.

That's interesting info. I'll have to go check the charts.
Unless your building an LS2 based stroker (utilizing the larger bore block), it's probably not worth the hassle. At this point no one has figured out a way to get the knock sensors to work although I have a feeling that will ultimately be worked out. Besides that there is some wiring harnesses to extend etc,....a very workable situation, but considering the swap for only a modest increase in displacement doesn't seem worth the BS yet.....Down the road I bet all the little "nuances" are handled and it will become more of a plug and play type of situation.
