Default Start up after G5X3

I just got my new G5X3 cam, TPIS Headers, underdrive pulleys,ect,... My question is when I finally do get everything back together, is it safe to fire it up even though my computer is still set up for the stock stuff. I just want to make sure it runs correctly before I take it to the tuner, which is about two hours away. Any input would be great as this is the first time I have done any of this. Thanks!

Does your etc... include upgraded valve springs? If so you should be okay for the drive to the tuner if you keep your foot out of it.... Enjoy your new found poer!

If you've got new springs, keep it under 4000 rpm while you drive the first day. Let cool overnight, kinda like a heat treat. You'll be alright, but it'll need to be tuned anyway. Air/fuel

Yeah, it's safe, but no, it won't run correctly.

It will idle like **** and you'll probably stall it a few times before learning what it takes to keep it running...but yes it should be driivable to your tuner.

Also, don't be too alarmed if you see the check engine light from the misfire or knock sensor codes that may be falsely detected. P0300 is a fairly common code to see after installing a massive cam like this one. Your tuner will take care of that. But if you do get the CE light, check the PCM codes to make sure it is related to this and not a different problem.

Do you have stock injectors? if so, then you can drive it but it will be a little rough.
Did you install Comp 921 springs? They are the only ones to date that are bullet proof with our packages.

Have fun and thanks

Don't mean to jump in on your thread but since Lou is here.... Lou, would it be ok to run this cam with AFR Mongoose's and a ProCharger and pass Texas emissions? Thanks.
