On a budget this year but gonna need new calipers before track season starts. Got pretty bad caliper spread from the looks of my pads. Before I pick up a new or used set of stock calipers, I figure I'd ask if there are any good budget caliper (<$800) upgrades I should consider.
Can you post some pictures and explain what is happening. I am interested in this as I will be tracking my car this year...
I don't have any pics but it's fairly easy to explain. I tend to be a late and heavy braker on the track especially when using race tires. With enough heat and pressure on the caliper, the clearance on the open end of the caliper will become greater than the inside.
I was using track pads with rivets and couldn't believe I went through them in a couple days of light track time. Then I noticed how much more was worn from the inside edge towards the caliper body than the outer edge.
I do have DRM brake ducts but I just put them on last year. Probably been bad for a while. I don't have any money for new track tires this year so that should also make it easier on the brakes.
