Default Recall Flywheel - is this necessary

Dear all

I have just got the PCM of my C5, 1998, reflashed. When I got the car back from the dealer he said that there would still be a recall open concerning the fly wheel. Does anybody of you have any experience with this recall, is it necessary, how difficult is it, is there anything I should let the dealer know (I am in Switzerland and I am almost sure that this is the first time he does something like that)?

I am grateful to any comments from your side on this issue.

Best regards,
Andreas

Haven't heard of a "flywheel" recall. The only other one I received was for the seat belt, I believe it was for the "retractor" part of the seat belt

I am grateful to any comments from your side on this issue.

Best regards,

I couldn't find a specific recall or TSB about this but there has been discussion on this forum about flywheel bolts that were improperly torqued at the factory which threw off the clutch alignment and caused a vibration in the driveline. Replacing the flywheel (torqued correctly), friction disc and pressure plate fixes the problem.

I've found that Corvette Action Center's Knowledgebase is pretty good for tracking TSBs and Recalls. It doesn't show anything under Clutches and Transmissions pertaining to flywheels.

Here's the link:

Dear all

Thanks a lot for your answers. I will try and find out more about it.
Besides the PCM recall I also had the seat belt recall done -it is just the "retractor" as you mentioned.

Best regards,
Andreas
