Default tires

I am looking for a new set of tire for my Z06 again. I and wondering what everyone is using. I was looking at Toyo, Yokohama's, Michelin Pilots2 then went to Nitto but they do not have my sizes. So what are you all running?

Well I'll tell you what I'm getting for my 99 FRC. I plan on getting 4 new Michelin pilot sport 2's. If you read some of the raves on this forum for the PS2 you'll see how pleased they are with the performance. I am a mechanic and all I recommend on my customer cars are michelins. I'm just a michelin junky. If I couldn't go michelin I would probably opt for pirelli Pzero's or the Goodyear eagle F1 Supercar tires. With a thread like this, you're bound to still be confused as to what to get in the end. There is really no wrong tire as long as you know what you're getting.

I'm assuming stock z06 rims?

I've just bought some for my coupe and I will probably go one of two directions. Either NIttoRII in a 275/40R17 & 305/35R18 combo, or Kuhmo MXs, and in those I think they have 275/295 options. All these will work on stock rim widths.

If you want exact stock sizes, as said above the PS2s are getting gread reviews.

Here's a little table I just put together for myself yesterday for my shopping comparison and pleasure. Maybe this will help. Prices are from tire rack, or discount tire for those that TR doesn't carry.

Code:
Front
               Diameter (in)
265/40R17	25.35	PS2	$235
255/40R17	25.03	K MX	$139
275/40R17	25.66	K MX	$164
275/40R17	25.66	GY F1GS-D3	$194
275/40R17	25.66	BFG KD	$238
265/40R17	25.35	GY F1 SC	$226
275/40R17	25.66	GY F1 SC	$219
275/40R17	25.79	Nitto 555RII

Rear
295/35R18	26.13	PS2	$359
295/35R18	26.13	K MX	$246
285/35R18	25.85	GY F1GS-D3	$252
295/35R18	26.13	BFG KD	$307
295/35R18	26.13	GY F1 SC	$274
305/35R18	26.41	Nitto 555RII	$316

I used to get 15k on my c4. I am not going to be running kumho again on the c5.
Looking for other brands with higher UTOG rating I want to get at least 10k on a set of tires.

Presently running Toyo Proxes T1s's on 18" rims, 265-35 fr, 295-35 rr. Only have about 3k on them so don't know how they will wear yet but others on the forum seem to get good tread wear.

Good overall performance tire especially in the wet, look great on the Mallet wheels but I wish the shoulders were more square and not so rounded looking.

I think the next set will be BF Goodrich KDs.
