SVS message has been appearing on DIC for last several weeks. Just had plugs and wires changed, cleaned the Blackwing and throttle body intake area real good, yet SVS message still appears. Dealer could not find any codes and just told me to 'clean up that aftermarket intake' as if that might fix it. Any others solved this problem?? Car is running great - but this message plants a seed of doubt in back of my mind....
Check the codes yourself. A code is almost always thrown when that light comes on. Or you can clear it by disconnecting the battery and see if it comes back. I don't know how cleaning an intake will fix that. I think the dealer doesn't want to touch it because it's an aftermarket intake.

Pull the codes and come back to post them. If you dont know how to do it, turn the key to the on position without turning on the motor. While holding the "options" button, press the "fuel" button three times. Write down the codes as they appear on the DIC. Here is a link to check what the codes are referring to:
A had a set of headers put on my car a week ago and the DIC threw a check engine code. I just reset all of the codes by holding the reset button after you follow the above procedure. The codes didnt come back. But check the codes first!!
Thanks runamuk. You are correct - as I stated there are no codes thrown in my computer. All service is up to date on my car - all fluids fresh including coolant. I have 65k miles on car so I don't think this is a common mileage threshold that may trip a service interval reminder. I've even removed the battery and checked for any leaking etc. Once re-installed the SVS message came right back. I'm confident the car is OK - I just want this message to GO AWAY!! The electronics on these cars is beyond frustrating....
I scanned thru the service manual but didn't find anything about this message so I looked in the owners manual and found on page 3-56 under "DIC warnings and messages" the message:
Service vehicle soon: If this message appears on the DIC, there may be an electrical or another system problem with your vehicle. Have your vehicle checked by your dealer if this message keeps appearing.
So know I'm going to have to go back to the service manual to find it, in the meantime have you checked for codes? It must be telling you there is a problem with one of the other modules.
Thanks - scary part is the dealer had no clue as to why it was coming on. I just don't understand why no codes exist on this one. I did read my owner's manual on this which is why I pulled my battery thinking it may be leaking or getting weak, but it was tested and has plenty of juice left (and it's not leaking). I'm just hoping someone else has had this issue and can share their resolution. Thanks again for your help runamuk.
Hmmm...maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought that a warning message popped up when your oil life reached 20% or something like that. Did you check oil life? Maybe the dealer changed the oil and didn't reset it. Good luck.
John
Thanks - I've done every oil change on the car and always reset the oil life monitor. In fact, it's never dropped below 50% before I change it. Thanks for the idea though - maybe the next reply will solve it!
