I never use shell, they actually are not recommended by GM, with the new additive they use. I also have heard alot of complaints here about their gas. I use Mobil/Exxon and never have any issuses

I have heard from folks on the forum and other friends that Shell has a very high sulfur content. I avoid it all together.

I'm not sure about octane boost, but you might go fill up with some Sunoco 94 and a bottle of Techron.

Good Luck

I've used Shell and Exxon for years in all three of my vehicles and I've never had an issue with Shell 93 fuel, but I'm very interested in the coments about Shell not being recommended by GM. Where can I get more info?

Here in So Cal I`ve had pinging issues with Shell and occasionally with Arco, Chevron and Union 76 seem to have the best results here in So Cal, IMO.

Cheers, Rick

I'm going to guess somebody either made a mistake or intentionaly filled the "93" tank with 87 octane.

Shell has come a long way with their new V power formula and is recognized as a top tier gasoline.

BMW, GM, Honda, and Toyota wrote the specs:

Where did you hear that SHELL is not recommended by GM? Any proof to this?
