From what I have read in the past.......it can't be done. I know the wiring harness is different. There are probably a few other differences between the two. If you can find a way of doing it, I'll trade you my Dual Climate Control for your Manual Climate Control.

Alot of work, probably not worth it considering the problems that the Auto Climate contro systems seem to have. Be happy you have the manual controls! (I am). I have had to fix many auto systems, thats why I didn't want it.

I have already had to replace ours because of the inevitable display failure. There are those that have and those that will fail, but sooner or later they all will.

Other than the display going out, there haven't been any problems with the system? It doesn't seem like a huge deal to me to just send it in to that refurbishing guy on ebay to have new lights put in the display.

I have heard you would need to change the evaporator unit as well as some wiring. Does anyone else know more in detail what a swap may include? Is the only problem seen with the auto climate is the display?
Thanks guys

I have two friends with the auto climate control. One had a problem with the display and the other had problems with the buttons causing the ac to turn on and off at will. Not worth it if you ask me....

It cannot be done. Requires replacement of all actuators that vent air into the car. The ones that direct the air to either the floor, vents or windshield. It would be cheaper to buy a new car.

to those who have worked on their auto climate controls-

do you have alot of heat coming up from the console tunnel? does the front of the controls get warm to the touch?

I wonder if the heat may shorten the controls life?

Reflectix and frost king foam will solve the heat problem and help with quieting the interior noise.

Default Climate Control Unit

Does anyone have pics of the climate control unit once it's removed?
I'd like to see what the back side of it looks like!
Thanks

I dont have any pics unfortunately but I can tell you for a fact that the back of the manual is nothing but a handful of vacuum tubes and a wire harness. The back of the auto is MUCH simpler with just one wire harness and thats it. This proves that the systems are VERY different im guessing the auto is all electronic where as the manual does it the "old school" way and uses vacuum actuation.

Hope this helps.

evap core needs to be changed, lots of work, w/ all the salvaged c5's out ther(karparts) the parts could prolly be had for a couple of hundred, but unless you are skilled w/ the wreches the labor would hurt, besides a nasty g5x3 cam will be much more pleasing than digital #'s for your ac...imho
