Default centerforce clutch

anyone using the centerforce gold? i installed one on a 99 firebird and it works great, but havent heard of anyone using them in a vette. im needing a new clutch soon and need some good advise or opinions.

The Centerforce should read clusterF@#K. If you are mostly stock just buy the Z06 clutch and clutch master cylinder. You will be fine. If you have signficant mods then look over in the Forced Induction / Nitrous area there is a lot of talk about a clutch from Australia as the flavor of the month. Stayaway from CF.

Centerforces are good for other makes/models of vehicles (the '03-'04 Cobra guys love them) but for some reason not many people have luck with them on LS1's. I'd stay away from them on your 'vete.

5L eater his firebird was an ls1. i think you mean no luck w/ vettes. I dont see how/why this would be the case but id like more info too

The F-Body guys hate them over on LS1Tech too. It's the same clutch I'm sure between the F-Body and Y-Body. In any case I'd either go with a Z06 clutch or for big horsepower a Textralia.

Don't forget the new slave and pilot bearing.
