i just came across this site today and i already saw a post today about some recommended exhaust systems. i also spent a considerable amount of time searching old threads. i am about to take my 2000 C5 out of storage next week and i need to replace my stock mufflers (one is shot, but dont want to replace with stock). so, i am looking for some suggestions. everything else stock, i do not plan on replacing anything (headers, x-pipe, etc.) for a while. What would be the best exhaust in that case? From looking at old posts it seems that everyone is happy with GHL. what are the differences between the magnums and the bullets? i am not looking at anything too loud, as i do a bit of highway driving and dont want a lot of resonance. i do, however want it to sound how a corvette is supposed to sound sorry to post a repetitive thread, i just want to be sure i make the right decision. thanks in advance!
I have the Corsa Indy Pace Car CatBacks on mine. They are great quality and sound like a vette should sound. They have zero resonance at any RPM or speed. They give you a nice increase in the sound at all throttle positions. At wide open, they SCREAM.... I added Long Tube headers to them and they are crazy loud at wide open throttle now.
Your best bet is to find people local that have aftermarket CatBacks to listen to. What I find loud you might think is too quite or the other way around. Good luck and welcome to the Forum.
