Default Suggestions??

I have a 01 A4 Vert. with cat back and intake with a MTI Dyno tune. It ran 327.8 hp and 334 tq.

I will be adding a set of Kooks headers and the Kooks x-pipe with high flow cats next week. I have about another $5K to throw at my toy but I need it to be streetable. I am open to suggestions on how to best spend my money.

how are the shoes looking (wheels?). 5k should get you a nice tire/wheel combo.

I sort of like the stock polished wheels. I have replaced the tires with the GS-D3's. I do like the motorsport Black wheels though.

That sounds like a good suggestion.

Actually for 3.73 gears the Yank SS 3600 would be a little better. I spoke with Yank last week as I currently have 3.73 gears with the SS 3200 convertor, Yanks advice to me was go to their SS 3600. My thoughts and this was confirmed by Yank is that I am under converted for the 3.73 gear ratio. I will be installing the SS 3600 sometime next week.

That sounds about right. MTI suggested a 3200 with my stock 3:15 rear.

Don't bother with anything under a 3200 stall, especially with 3.73's.

How long should I expect the A4 to hold up running this HP? I will only occasionaly run at the track. I am just looking for a strong street car.

For $5K I would do AFR 205 heads and a baby cam or a used ProCharger.

I agree! A baby cam especially if your not going to do a higher stall tc. The best advice, I think, would be to do a higher stall tc, good heads/cam, UD pulley, etc.

So to go along with my Kooks install it sounds like the following will give me a decent street machine. This is keeping in mind I plan to stay with the 3:15 rear and want it to be very streetable and not just a hobby car.

1. 2800 to 3200 T/C depending on brand.
2. A mild street cam
3. Heads
4. Underdrive pulley
5. Tranny cooler

How will the A4 hold up with these mods?

. Kooks Headers, Black Wing Breather and Borla or Corsa exhasut.

(Custom Tune Needed From Here Down)

2. AFR LS6 Stage II Heads & a 224/228 581/588 114+2 Comp Cam, LS6 ported oil pump, SLP double roller timing chain, Comp hardened push rods. (Optional LSX Intake & an ASP Under Drive Pully and Alt Over Drive Pully)

3. 3.73 or 3.42 gears and a 2800 to 3200 stall converter if your an A-4

4. M/T Drag Radial's are required to hook if your serious about putting down a good time at the track.

5. Good Nitrous Wet Kit, I like the NX stuff or the Cold Fusion.

From what I have read here on the forum, you should be OK up to 400 horsepower.

I'd go for the 3.42's or 3.73's and a built A4...and maybe the TC if you have anything left!

16again, do you do the work yourself? I would be willing to help out on your job if you could assist with mine. Putting on an ss3200 that should be here monday.

If you dont do the work yourself where do you have it done?
