Default heads up display question....

Your site is great, I am from the Silveradoss forum. I was sent here for questions on the heads up display function. I am looking to adapt it to my truck. Can anyone give an inside look at how it works?
Thanks,
bill

oh contraire (spelled right?)
it could work
the boards inside the clusters may be very very similar to the boards inside the silverado cluster
meaning you can just switch the boards and then find a way to mount the projector

i say this because the boards are made by nippon sekie or however the hell you spell it and i highly doubt they would have multiple boards for GM to use

does the silverado have a display in the cluster that reads things out ?

if so i bet the boards are the same

Default clusters

I do know that the clusters are interchangable between cadilac and gm as well as truck to truck.

Another thing to think about is do you haev the room for the thing in the dash, aslo the angle it would sit is important as well since the angles of the windshields are somewhat different. Pretty much fit to use I suppose. I think the HUD is a read only type deal if I am not mistaken (mistaken HA I really have no clue) I am sure you can figure out what inputs are needed for reading for display. Is this a cool idea yea. But is it gonna be cost effective? I have it in my vette but I tell you I hardly ever use it. Its more of one of my cars GEE WIZ type things nice to have but not something I gotta have.

Imho I wouldnt think that it is worth the trouble. Ive had HUD for 3 years now and rarely had it turned on. I see it as a nuisance in the windshield especially at night. Alot of people here will disagree with me but I wouldnt spend the money on it.
