Good morning everyone. I'm just looking for a little advice. I purchased 4 chrome exhaust tips on Ebay for my 97 Vette. The auction stated that they just slip on and nothing else is needed for installation (I guess they fit on very snugly). They have no hold-on clamps on the inside like some that I have seen have. I really don't want to drill and use a sheet metal screw. I was thinking of using a small dab of JB WELD. Do you think this will do the job? Thanks, Craig
before i got the Corsa Indys I had the corsa tips on my stock exhaust, they just slipped on but also had a sheet metal screw on the bottom .
it was no problem drilling the screw hole, even with the tips off you couldn't see the hole for the screw.
you should use the screw, you don't want to loose one of the tips.
JB weld is great stuff, but you never know what the vibration and heat from the exhaust will do to it.
if they're the factory type/shape, just a tack weld in the notch, if you don't have a welder, any muffler shop can do it in a couple seconds ........ the BJ weld would work, but i'd weld
Thanks everyone for all your advice. I decided to try using JB WELD. I'm hoping that will do the trick. I'll check the tips every now and then to see if they are loosening. I'm hoping the JB Weld will work, but if I end up losing one on the road, I'll see if I can purchase a replacement.
