I talked about this before, but I need some more input before I go purchasing a new head unit (which was replaced once already when the display started to dim). The a/c is fully charged, and it seems the passenger side blows slightly cooler air than the driver's side. Both do not blow cold though. The weather has gotten into the 80's here and you can tell the a/c is defiantely not cooling. I checked all the fuses and relays, and as far as I can tell they are all fine. It is definately kicking on when I turn it on with the engine running. No codes in the DIC. Any ideas? A/C is a must in Florida. When I lived in Boston, it wasn't a necessity, but it is with Florida summer approaching. Thanks for any input.
Can't solve your problem but have some suggestions.
First check to see if the refrigerant return line is cold. This is the line that goes from the dash back to the compressor. There is probably an accumulator (large silver thing) in that line. It should feel quite cold when the compressor is running and probably has condensation on it. If the compressor is running and the return line is not cold, it is possible the system is undercharged or overcharged or has too much oil in it.
If the return line is ok, it is most likely a diverter door under the dash which is not working properly. There is one that mixes hot and cold air to get the correct temperature. It could be the actuator itself or something in the control system, including the head unit.
