I recently replaced the battery on my remote control for my 2000 vet.
Do I need to take the remote to the dealership to get it reprogramed?
It doesn't activate anything. Do I have other options?
Help
This isn't exactly right. If it were, anyone with a vette key fob could be in your car in 15 seconds.
You need to have the key in the ignition and the ignition turned to the on position. Then hold both buttons for ~20 seconds and after you hear te horn beep it's programmed.
I just stood outside the driver's door, and help them both down together. It worked too. Some of my other cars need you to be very close to make it reprogram.
I tried to program mine and it honks all night after i do it. I finally put the key fobs in a metal container and said screw it. I'll wait till i take it in for an oil change.
