I know a lot has been discussed regarding this topic so I won't drag this out. Column locked up today...used the info on the forum to get it unlocked (YEAH!). Now I want to buy the CLB. Which do you recommend, the one from Thunder Racing or Corvettes of Houston. It looks to me like the TR one gets hardwired in and the COH one gets plugged into the cigarette lighter. Is that correct? Thanks for your help. Always great communicating with everyone. Tom.

The cigarette lighter part is only to get 12v down two a couple of wires at the connector for the column lock. It's basically only used one time. The actual bypass unit has a logic circuit in it to fool the BCM into thinking that the factory column lock is operating normally and prevent any trouble codes from being thrown. It's a plug and play.
they're all basically the same with a latching relay inside...take your pick. Like was said earlier, the cigarette lighter cord is used one time only to unlock your ECL prior to plugging in your CLB module. Good luck.
