I have gotten alot of PM's during the last day or so about my driveline. I have had the same setup for the past year or so and have not broken anything since going to the Ram clutch
Driveline:
Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel
Ram Pressure Plate
Ram Dual Compound Disc
McLeod Adjustable Master
Z06 Slave
No Clutch Spring
300m output shaft
3.90s
26 x 11.5" ET streets(11-14psi) 12-12.5 PSI average
Launch:
6000 + 150 shot on a progressive controller
Phil, do you run the RAM 980 disk? That is the disk I am running and it seems to be working the best out of anything in my car. I am sort of a afraid to beat on it with some sticky tires though since I dont want to go through any more clutch issues.

Matt,
I orginally had the 980(6 puck), recently switched to a solid disc with dual compounds.

Please don't take this post as me bragging or boasting. I have found a combo that will slip enough to cushion the driveline. Between the tires, tire pressure, clutch slippage and my driving style it just all works.

2 quick questions...
1. Do you drive it like you hate it like me?
2. Does Rodney have a website?

That is the magic of running fast times without serious breakage.

I was playing off your sarcasm. I guess mine didn't go over well. I won't quit my day job.
You're absolutley right about it being a combo/driving style issue. After ~ 250 passes, I pulled my STOCK clutch just for preventative maintenance and my installer could not believe I raced the car on sticky tires with 4K+ launches. This while everyone else was complaining about sticky pedals and clutches that wouldn't last.
I replaced that clutch with a single disk Mcleod that I got about another 250 passes out of and, again, only pulled it because the motor came out.
You and I are proof that you CAN race modded C5s without blowing through trannies and clutches every few passes.

Thanks!
I can answer the first question for you, because I know Phil, and have watched him race numerous times. Does launching off the rev limiter give you any indication of how the car is driven.

Cajundude,
I wouldn't say I hate it but I drive the car hard. You need to call Rodney on this cell phone.
Ranger,
Between the Tire slippage, tire slippage on the rim, clutch slippage and the soft sidewalls of the tires @ 12psi the combo works. I have seen you race and man its amazing...
The One,
Its all cool. You have quite the car on your hands also. Doing those times in a vert is not an easy feat.
Hardtop,
Thanks! We gotta hang out soon....Did I tell you the rev limiter is set @ 7200.
