I have a 2004 Z06, and mine has done the same thing a few times. I will get out of the car and not lock it, and the next time I open the door the alarm goes off. I can always turn the alarm off by putting the key in the ignition or pressing the unlock button on the remote, but it is still embarrassing.
I am trying to pay more attention to the sequence of events that may cause it to get confused and arm itself.
I think sometimes that I open the door before I pull the key and the security light stays on steady, instead of flashing to remind me to arm the alarm. The steady light means the alarm is armed.
Lately, I have been making sure that I pull the key before I open the door and check the dash when I open the door to make sure the "security" light is flashing. So far, it has not armed itself again.
my 99 coupe does it, use too. Check the body module fuses under neath the dash. That was my problem, maybe different on yours but it might help you out.
Ive heard from a couple of guys that you need to open up the remote and clean the passive switch . Mine was acting up and I just turned it off and no more problems .
