I am in the process of installing a Raptor shift light. I am almost done but still need to find a switched power source to power it.
I had bookmarked a bunch of links about shiftlight installation but now unfortunately only one of the bookmarks still works (forum problems?).
I can find one post about powering it from an add-a-circuit from the passengers side fues box near the BCM. I would really like to find a power source on the drivers side of the car. In looking at the wiring diagrams it looks like I might be able to use the pink wire that goes to the instrument cluster (labeled switched ingition 1). Would this work ok and not draw enough current to screw up the instrument cluster power?

Here's a link to a thread where I posted forum member Flyin'Brian's excellent instructions on how to wire a shift light. I used these for my install and had no problems at all with it. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ght&forum_id=1
Thanks that is the one thread that I did find. I already have located the tach signal wire (white wire (A17) above the brown wire (B17) on the instrument panel connector) and ground.
I am looking for a switched hot wire on the driver's side. I did not see that mentioned in the link. Where did you power yours from?
I posted a similar question, but never got an answer. I ended up using pwr and grnd from the trac control assembly in the center consol/armrest. It works... I am SURE there is a better way though : )

Thanks.
I found a switched hot wire up under the drivers side dash that was running toward the passenger side foot well. It was a reddish orange colored wire. You might could also use the switched hot wire for the fog lights. I'm thinking it is a brown/white combo color.
