Default coolant flow direction

Which way does the coolant flow in an LS1? From the engine to the top of the radiator and from the bottom of the radiator to the thermostat or the other way around?

It goes from the engine out through the thermostat to the bottom of the radiator, then it goes through the radiator, out the top of the radiator and back into the engine and all through the engine and then out through the thermostat again.

LT1 was a "reverse-flow" motor but was not carried over to the LS1/6 due to cost factors.

Having replaced a water pump in my '94 Trans Am GT (LT1) I can understand why!

The thermostat is inline with the lower radiator hose.

FWIW, GM and Evans Cooling have been having legal battles about reverse flow cooling for many years.
