Default retune after pulling screen from granitteli MAF?

I have 424 fast 90 NW 90 granitteli MAF in 98 vette.

Car was tuned with the honey comb screen in MAF. Had a nitrous backfire and destroied the screen. The MAF looks ok but do I need to retune if I use it with out the screen?

Thanks for your coments

Are you sure it's a Granatelli MAF?

Mind did not come with a screen, my stock MAF has a honeycomb screen in it.

and I thought that was the whole point of the Granatelli, it's tuned to eliminate the screen.

I'm sure, it has the sticker on it. A&A Vette installed it.

my granatelli came with the sticker but it was not stuck onto the MAF, it was just in the box with it.

does your MAF have plastic ends or aluminum?

On the aircleaner side it says DELPHI. It has aluminum ends. On the center section it has PBT-(GF+M) 30< I'm not sure what that means.

when I was tuning my car (with EFILive and a MAF translator) I tested my stock MAF with the plastic granatelli ends and with the factory aluminum ends (with screen) and there was a difference.
with the screen removed the stock MAF was really leaning out the AF ratio (running 18% lean).

the granatelli was running about 4% rich by itself, that number went up when installed the factory ends (with screen) into the granatelli.

In the end, I had to do less tuning with the granatelli installed to get my AF ratio where it needed to be.

I'm not saying the granatelli got me any extra power, just that the tuning was easier using it.

my car dyno'd at 324 RWHP and 333 RWTq running 2% lean.

I'm happy with the results.
