upgrading active handling...
I just got back from track day at Willow Springs and had a blast! After talking to a few guys about my Traction Control / Active Handling cutting in and out they suggested I put it in competition mode. That would be fine, except 2000's don't have that. So has anyone upgraded? Can the compute be reflashed or something? I'd love to get back out and wear out another set of tires! Any advice?
Thanks,
Bruce
All the 98 through 00 cars that had active handling could be switched into Competition Mode. For cars with TC only all you can do is switch TC off.

phew I am glad that is over with. I got myself all confused for a second.
First, your car must be equipped with Active Handling (RPO JL4) in order for you to have the Competitive Driving Mode. If your car is equipped with Active Handling, the button on your console will have the words "Active Handling" above it. Also, your car's RPO label will show the RPO Code JL4. Otherwise you do not have Active Handling.
The 1st Generation of Active Handling made its debut in the 1998 model year as optional equipment. With 1st Generation Active Handling, the car must be brought to a complete stop in order to enable the Competitive Driving Mode. Next, you must press and hold the Active Handling button (approximately 5 seconds) until COMPETITVE DRIVING appears in the DIC. With the 2001 model year, 2nd Generation Active Handling was introduced and it became a standard feature for 2001 and all future C5 model years. With 2nd Generation Active Handling, the Competitive Driving Mode can be enabled while the vehicle is moving. You can read more about the 2nd Generation Active Handling at the following link:
