Baer Eradispeeds...
...upgraded to them on my 03. Two reasons for the purchase (disregarding any bling factor ):
1 - With an automatic, the inadequacy of the stock C5 brakes in resistance to buildup, disc warping, and the like. Driving in traffic around here, holding the car at stops or in traffic (can't shift to neutral everywhere and every time!), the stopping quality deteriorated quickly - pulling, unevenness, etc.
2 - The car has the F55 but I upgraded to Z06 size Motorsports wheels and Michelins. I can't prove it but I think the extra weight freaks out the computer a bit. The Baer 2-piece rotors are lighter. And sure enough, on the drive home from the install, there's at least a seat of the pants feel that the suspension system is functioning a little more responsively in either setting.
Interested to know if anyone else has had similar experiences or whatever... Thanx!
Congrats on the new rotors and wheels, but please stop teasing us with the technical jargon (even though this is the tech section) and SHOW US SOME PICS!! Have you also thought about upgrading to SS brake lines. I am going to sometime in the future when I change the brake fluid out. Here are my baer 1pcs. I think they are awesome.

Well, that would require this technical moron to go relearn how to use that digital camera and download the results. So don't hold your breath... :o
I need to add that I've just reread the instructions for breaking in (bedding) and obviously they were written by someone who lives outside the congested Northeast! Find a safe place where you can do cycles of brake applications from 55-75 down to 15-20 at increasing peddle pressures, interspersed with 15-20 minute stretches of driving without brake applications. Yeah, right.

True, true. It is difficult to do the seasoning just as instructed but do your best and you'll be rewarded with long life and great performance of your Baer's. I'm lucky to live in the midst of a bunch of horse ranches so there are lots of long, empty roads to let loose on.
Has anyone installed the 14" 2-piece rotors on the rear? I believe that this is their "plus 1" configuration. I really like the 2-piece rotors and would not mind using them all the way around, but have no idea what extra is required to make this work.
Feedback from anyone who has done this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Evil-Twin was the first to receive their new-design two piece rear a few months ago. He told me he needed to use a spacer for to fit them with his CCW 505A's.
I wonder if you notice a big difference between the 12" and the 14"? For the front I would think so. Just trying to deterimine if it is worth the few hundred dollars extra for the rear.
I believe the instructions recommend that, for best break in, you simply take it very easy on the braking for 250 miles. I had the Baer 13" Track Kit on my Mustang, and now the Eradispeeds on my vette and this is how I broke them in each time. I know it's hard to wait, but around here you'd have to go out in the middle of the night to find a lonely stretch of road to do it the quick way.
I also love the way the Eradispeeds look on the Vette

I did the WHOLE seasoning/embedding process as discribed by Baer. They stop great..no vibration. Will see how long they last....I drive hard!!!!!
I did the MotorSports (with Baer's at same time) and also noticed slight weight increase with my F55....solution...got rid of it. Went to Z06 springs/bilstiens along with Hotchkis.
Question: How can upgrading the size of the rear rotor from 12" to 14" make any difference in performance when reusing the stock size calipers and pads???
I would think the pad to rotor contact area needs to be larger as well.

Th contact area is larger, not in width but in length.
Are the 2 piece rotors lighter and do the caps need to be painted so they don't rust. I need a good education on the benefits of the 1 piece rotors as opposed to the 2 piece rotors. As far as maintaining the look, without any visible rust on the caps. Thanks.

The contact area is the same but the swept area is longer for better cooling and most improtant, the leverage ratio which is the radius of the rotor is about 15% better being 7 inches instead of 6 inches

Yeah, that's what I figure - just keep from jumping on them for the first few hundred miles and gradually work up the scale - that is, assuming the traffic around here allows that!
Me, too - fills out the rear wheel nicely.
