Autoweek just published a short article on the GM STS SAE 100, where they are experimenting with 50 different new technologies for possible future use. Some may find there way into Corvettes. The few mentioned include:
Supercharged LS2 (505 hp/520 ft. lbs), electronic limited slip diff for enhanced traction and stability without interferring with the engine or braking systems
Capless fuel system ( a ball spins to open and close when nozzle is removed (no loose fuel caps for check engine light warnings)
Two piece carbon fiber wheels with magnesium spokes (supposed to be lightest/stongest wheels in production)
All seem reasonable
They also mention a lane changing warning system (detects road markings and warns driver visual or vibrating seat when veering over markings at speeds over 35 mph).
Well, I was with them until I got to the last one, but, oh well some engineer wants that vibrating seat built in (wouldn't rumble strips do the same thing).
