Shaky passing mirrors
Dear Vette wrenches,
Is there a fix for the shaky side view/passing mirrors? If I hold onto the left mirror body it definitely alleviates the issue of the "dancing" glass. I thought there maybe a way to tighten the base or put more spring tension on the pivot point. Any ideas?

I read a post on this forum about repairing outside mirrors when the factory retaining clip fails and the mirror falls off. Kinda embarrassing.
You may need to take the mirror apart as in the post I am talking about and install a cotter pin to make sure the mirror is retained. While you are at it you can increase the spring tension if that is the problem.

I'm dealing with this problem now. There's a small clip behind the glass that presses down a stiff spring. Being that it's cramped in there, I couldn't find any way to put enough force on the clip to compress the spring without breaking the mirror. My solution was to buy another on Ebay about 5 minutes ago.
