Headunit install help!
1 You can buy a harness to plug into your head unit and go to your car...these are cheap ie $12.00
2 your front speakers are not compatible with your new head unit because they have built in amps, the rears will work.
3 you can buy a connector that will make it so your fronts will work but these can be expensive and cause some of thier own probs.
4 the easiest thing to do is to run new speaker wire to the doors and buy some good front speakers.
It took less than an hour to do this and is easily reversible.
I hope some of this helps....

1. Pry the smart panel out (vented piece next to key slot) and remove t-15 screw
2. Pull out the ashtray and remove 2 t-15 screws
3. Pry active handling housing up from back under the console lid and unplug wires
4. Remove the now exposed 2 10mm nuts holding the center trim piece in
5. Pull out center trim starting from the back (You may need to move your e-brake and gear shifter)
6. Once thats done remove the 2 7mm bolts on each side of the head unit and pull out/unplug.
Thats it, no worries. Here are the parts I used made my Metra.
70-1858 Harness
99-3300 Kit
40-GM10 Antenna adapter
PM me if you have any other questions, GOOD LUCK!
The factory unit only has a tape player!! I miss my mp3 collection.
On a side note i was looking to get a dual 10" box from subthump.com. Has anybody had any experience with them...are they a reputable company? Quality product? On that same note, i am trying to find out a good place to put the amp for the subs in my hardtop. I noticed the coupe has a nice place on the back of the trunk wall, but on the hardtop this is where the latch is so that’s out. Any good out of the way places or ideas so its not in the middle of the trunk? Pictures are great too.
Thanks again for all the help.
